Confucianism, a philosophy, religion, or way of life, has influenced East Asian culture for over two thousand years. Based on the teachings of Confucaius, a Chinese philosopher and politician (551-479 BCE), it stresses social harmony, moral behavior, and ancestor worship. Confucianism isn’t faith in god in the Western sense, but faith in great humans who built a beautifully ordered society through ceremony and duty. Our resources will take you through a sampling of Confucianism–its influence on family, politics and personal ethics.
